Gizmo "Gizzy" Gleaton came home with us today. He's a sweet puppy, very calm. Let's just hope that last. :) He's about 4lbs of fur.

I DID IT....I RAN A HALF MARATHON!!!!!!!!

As most of you know, back in July I started training to run a marathon. We were to the point in our training that we were ready for a half marathon (13.1 miles). So, on Sunday, our group participated in the Scott and White Miracle Match Marathon here in Waco. It's known as the Toughest Little Marathon in Texas. I was able to cross the finish line in under 3 hours (2:51 to be exact!)

Amy and I just before the race started. I convinced Amy to sign up with me to train for the marathon. Amy has been a huge encouragement to me throughout our training! Thanks a million Amy for doing this with me!!!

Todd, the kids and my mom were there to cheer me on. Todd said he took a chance taking this picture at the start of the race and just happened to get me as I crossed the starting line.

It doesn't stop here. We will continue to train for a Full Marathon. Amy, Laura and I plan to run another half marthon in December. Then in February we will run our first full marathon in Austin!!!

Anniversary

Todd and I celebrated our 12th anniversary on Sunday. We enjoyed dinner at 135 Prime Saturday evening. Sunday was just a regular day. I helped with a wedding shower and Todd took 5 kids to the zoo!!!

I'm Back

Let me catch you up on what's been happening since July! We made it to the state baseball tournament! That was alot of fun and a great experience. Our team placed sixth overall!About a week after the tournament we took a quick family trip to Galveston. Todd's parents, brother, niece and nephew joined us there. We had a GREAT time! We stayed in the Casa Del Mar condos at 61st and Seawall. Here are a few pictures from Seawolf Park. Unfortunately this area was heavly damaged by hurricane IKE! I saw a picture the other day of the battleship leaning on it's side, the sub is still in it's place, but all the other stuff is gone!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL I'm only six weeks behind :)

Preston is in 4th grade this year and Colton's in 1st grade. Both are doing great in school, first report cards come home next week! I think they think they are getting too big for me to take their picture on the first day???

Since school has started, Colton has lost one tooth on the top and the other is well on it's way out. I tried taking a picture but you can hardly tell it when he smiles. I guess first thing on the Christmas wish list will be his two front teeth! :)

Longtime no blog...

It's been a long time since I sat down to blog. So let me catch you up on what's been going on with The Gleaton Gang. I can sum it all up in one word...B-A-S-E-B-A-L-L !!

That's right, Preston is STILL playing baseball. His team came in first in their division which means playoffs. Our regular season has been over for a month and we are FINALLY going to start post-season play this week! In the meantime we've kept busy with the 2-3 hour practices 4-5 days a week! Go Sidewinders! If we win this round we will play in the state tournament in Brownwood the last week of July!!

Enough about that... Todd turned 35 this week!!! We celebrated with an Asian stir fry, cake and homemade ice cream. All Todd's favorites!!!

Colton turns 6!!!

Oh yea, it's my birthday!

Colton celebrated his 6th birthday on May 13th. Can you believe it? And, in just a few short days he will graduate from Kindergarten!!!

We had a small celebration on his actual birthday at Burger King with a few friends. On Saturday we had a party for Colton and Preston at Young Champions. They had a blast!

We can't believe how the years have flown by. Just seems like yesterday Preston was keeping us up all night long, screaming his head off. Boy are we ever glad we're past that stage! Not sure we're ready for the stages to come (i.e. driving a car). Preston informed us that was only 7 years away!!

Colton had his first T Ball game today. The first game of the season is always fun. Kids playing in the dirt, running the wrong way and a comedy of other errors. It can be quite entertaining! The Red Sox played a good game, but lost by 2.

Preston had his first baseball game of the season tonight. It was an AWESOME game!!! Of course they won 3-1!!! They played awesome defense!!! After losing most of their games last year, this victory was sweet!!! Way to go PG!!!

Our niece Ashely turned 15 on April 12th. She joined us this weekend on our trip to the Great Wolf Lodge (more about that later). We had a little celebration on Friday night for her!!

Easter

Brrrr!!! It was a chilly start this Easter. Not quite as cold as last Easter when it SNOWED! The Easter Bunny brought lots of chocolate and goodies for the boys for which they were very excited about!!!

Spring Break 2008

For Spring Break we decided to do a road trip to South Texas. We stayed in Webster which is about 30 minutes from Houston and Galveston.

On Saturday afternoon we went to the Kemah Boardwalk. This was about 10 minutes from where we stayed. The kids really enjoyed this. Preston and I rode the Boardwalk Bullet (similar to the Texas Giant). Todd and Colton stuck to the kiddy rides. We really enjoyed seeing all the BIG boats coming in and out of the marina! We had dinner at The Aquarium, kind of like Rainforest Cafe with an ocean twist. Lots of fun rides and entertainment in this area!!

On Sunday, we went to Schiltterbahn on Galveston Island. The have an indoor heated season. They keep it at 80 degrees in most areas. It was a little chilly standing in line for some of the rides. I did manage to get Colton on one of the big slides. He cried the whole way up to the top and was ready to go again and again by the time we got to the bottom.

On Monday we visited Space Center Houston. Lots of fun, lots of people! Preston and Colton both got to go on stage at different shows. They thought that was really cool!

On Tuesday we went back to Galveston Island to visit Moody Gardens. This was a really neat place. Lots to see and do! We also took a ride on the Colonel, a paddle wheel boat.

We came home on Wednesday morning so we could have a few days of rest before heading back to work and school next week.
